Materials used: modroc masks, A4 posters and photography.
These hand-crafted masks were given to strangers on the streets of France. They were asked to resume their original positions before I interrupted them, whilst being photographed. These interactions then fuelled the basis for a continuation of the project. The imagery of the mask was used as a symbol for a movement that transcended the confines of the gallery. These other staged photographs bring about the possibility of many more people wearing these masks, keeping the artwork present in the viewer’s mind.
